Meghli , Sweet Sensations (Jordan) by Sereen Homsi

Meghli, my favourite Lebanese sweet! Although traditionally served when celebrating the arrival of newborns, I don't need such an excuse to do it. Anyone else here loves to eat it for breakfast like me?

Below is the recipe handed down to me by my grandmother, and I find it the tastiest recipe by far. I know many of you will say meghli doesn't contain anise, but I beg to differ. Just try it and I promise you you won't be disappointed

Steps

Done

Mix all together and cook until it boils and thickens while stirring continuously.

Place in refrigerator and serve decorated with desiccated coconut, blanched almonds, pine nuts, ground walnuts and pistachios.

Note: Some people like to eat it hot not cold.
