  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup ice water
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter

  4. Blind bake the crust by lining it with parchment paper and filling it with pie weights or dried beans. Bake for 15 minutes, then remove the weights and parchment and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the crust is set.
  5. While the crust cools, prepare the caramel. In a saucepan, melt the butter and granulated sugar over medium heat. Once it turns a deep amber color, remove it from heat and carefully whisk in the heavy cream and sea salt. Allow the caramel to cool slightly.
  6. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the cooled tart crust. Pour the caramel over the chocolate chips, spreading it evenly.
  7. Place the tart in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to set.
