Asian Inspired Tofu and Veggie Stir-Fry

  • 1 package of firm tofu
  • 2 cups of broccoli florets
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1/2 cup of snow peas
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons of hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Start by pressing the tofu to remove excess water. Cut it into bite-sized cubes and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, hoisin sauce, and cornstarch to make the sauce. Set it aside.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the tofu cubes and cook until they are golden brown on all sides. Remove them from the skillet and set them aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed and then add the minced garlic and ginger. Sauté for about a minute until fragrant.
  5. Add the broccoli, bell peppers, carrot, and snow peas to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  6. Return the tofu to the skillet and pour the sauce over the tofu and vegetables. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until everything is well coated and the sauce has thickened.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.
