First cook the potatoes in salt water.

Then blanch the kale. For one who don’t know blanching: put the kale for just two or three minutes in cooking salt water. I like to first blanch the whole kale before I slice it.

Then start with making the Béchamel. Use olive oil instead of butter. Spice the Béchamel with Chilli, pepper and nutmeg.

Put the Béchamel in a mixer add the cauliflower and splend it until it gets smooth.

Slice onions and fry it in a pan together with some olive oil.

First pan searing and after some minutes add 2-3 tablespoon of sugar. Continue with gently roasting for one hour and stir every five minutes. The caramelised onions will add a lot of taste to the meal.

In this time you can blanch the asparagus after peeling it. Also peel the cooked potatoes. Then slice the potatoes in slices.

Put the potatoes in a fireproof pan. Add the Béchamel and the asparagus and the caramelised onions. You may also add some cheese. Add some salt, pepper and nutmeg. Stirr a little bit. Then bake with 200 - 250 degrees Celsius for about 30 minutes.

You may also add additionally or instead of asparagus: spinach, canned peas, kale.
It’s possible to add some mozzarella. But then it's not a diet recipe.
